Jazz: On Tour
2 week camp
Step into the spotlight this summer with our free two‑week performance intensive — a camp designed to ignite your passion, sharpen your focus, and put you center‑stage in front of real audiences. You’ll perform on stages big and small, dive into the rich legacy of Pittsburgh’s legendary jazz scene, and bring iconic compositions to life in fresh, electrifying ways.
This is not just a camp — it’s a glimpse into the life of a professional touring artist, complete with daily rehearsals, live performances, and the thrill of connecting with audiences who will never forget what they hear. Masterclasses, financial literacy, and musician mental health are a part of the mix too. Each participant will receive a stipend.

Audition Requirements

Audition Dates
Tuesday, June 23, 4 pm to 7 pm,
Saturday, June 27, 9 am to 1 pm
Auditions will be held at MCG Jazz, located at 1815 Metropolitan Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15233. Guardians and students should be prepared to remain for the full duration of the audition period. You will be assigned an audition room and time upon check-in. While students are waiting to audition, MCG will provide snacks, water, and areas to warm up. Activities will also be available for students and guardians to participate in while waiting. The enroll button at the bottom of the page will take you to another site where you can select your audition date.
Audition Requirements

One prepared piece with Solo
Select one of the three tunes listed below as your prepared piece. Be prepared to perform the melody and play an improvised solo. Click the link to find the sheet music in C, Bb, Eb, and bass clef.
2. Song of your choice
Play us a song that you enjoy playing. The song does not have to be a Jazz song. It can literally be any song you enjoy playing.
