MCG JAZZ AND TAMARA TUNIE
MAKING HEADLINES
The Pittsburgh Press Is Taking Notice — And We Love to See It!
Today, we're sharing two pieces of good news from Pittsburgh's media landscape.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette published an article on Tamara Tunie, and it's a beautiful send-off to a truly extraordinary season-long residency. Writer Kevin Kirkland captures the brilliance of what so many Pittsburghers have witnessed over the past year: a hometown artist who came back not just to perform, but also to pour herself into this community.
From school visits at Pittsburgh King PreK-8 to masterclasses at Duquesne and Slippery Rock, Tamara has shown up again and again for students, young musicians, and anyone lucky enough to be in the room. And this Saturday, May 23, it all culminates in An Evening with Tamara Tunie at MCG's North Side concert hall: two shows (6 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.) featuring an all-star ensemble and the kind of storytelling only Tamara can deliver. The show will also include Christian Sands (piano), Ian Ashby (bass), Jason Washington Jr. (drums), Tom Lehman (trumpet), Mike Tomaro (saxophone and flute) and Jay Ashby (trombone).

We were also thrilled to be included in NEXT Pittsburgh's roundup of 12 Things to Do in Pittsburgh This Memorial Day Weekend — great company to be in.
Tickets for Tamara Tunie are still available at $55–$67.50.
